    Two more recruiting options

4:36 p.m.: Just when we thought Nebraska's had whittled its list of recruiting targets to three, a pair of new figures have appeared on the radar.

Quarterback Cody Fajardo of Anaheim, Calif., is set to make an official visit to Nebraska this weekend, according to scout.com. Fajardo, 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, won the Glenn Davis Award, presented by the Los Angeles Times to the top player in Southern California. Interestingly, the 2008 winner, quarterback Taylor Martinez of Corona, Calif., is also at Nebraska.

Fajardo has received only modest attention in recruiting. He's committed to San Jose State after accumulating 3,562 yards of total offense as a senior, leading Servite High School to a one-loss season and a California Southern Section Pac-5 Division title.

Also, according to rivals.com, the Huskers have extended a scholarship offer to Ezell Ruffin, a speedy, 6-1 receiver from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, Calif. Rufffin, committed to San Diego State, is a brother of NU freshman cornerback Lazarri Middleton.

With 19 pledges, NU continues to pursue quarterback Brion Carnes of Bradenton, Fla., safety Corey Cooper of Maywood, Ill., and defensive end Owamagbe Odighizuwa.

Dan Wood, Odighizuwa's coach at David Douglas High School in Portland, Ore., said today that the five-star prospect will make a signing-day announcement, Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. PST. He is considering Oregon State and UCLA in addition to the Huskers.
