    Marsh commits to UNO

8:22 p.m.: Read into this what you'd like - Millard South quarterback Bronson Marsh, coveted as a walk on and perhaps something more by Nebraska, has accepted a scholarship from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Marsh confirmed his pledge tonight as quarterback Brion Carnes of Bradenton, Fla., wrapped his weekend visit at Nebraska.

Are the two events connected? Difficult to speculate. But as of late last week, Marsh looked set to remain patient with the Huskers. He visited NU last weekend, when coach Bo Pelini expressed his desire to make Marsh a Husker.

Marsh's pledge to UNO, of course, is non-binding; nothing is official until Feb. 3. But Marsh has waited this long for a Division I offer, so he's likely serious about his commitment to the Mavs.

Kansas showed late interest in Marsh, too, sending offensive coordinator Chuck Long to Omaha last week.

At UNO, the All-Nebraska QB will, no doubt, receive a better opportunity to play his position of choice. He set career records this fall for passing yardage and total offense in 11-man Nebraska high school football, leading the Patriots to an unbeaten season and Class A title.
