    Suh to skip Senior Bowl

7:06 p.m.: The family of Ndamukong Suh confirms that the former Nebraska defensive tackle isn’t going to the Senior Bowl, something Suh first told Mel Kiper Jr. during his visit to the ESPN studios.

Ngum Suh said her brother instead will immerse himself in training and preparation for the NFL Combine in five weeks.

The Senior Bowl is Jan. 30, with players reporting this weekend. Former NU safety Larry Asante is set to play in the prestigious all-star game that includes all-week coverage by the NFL Network.

Speaking of Kiper, the draft analyst updated his "big board" today to include all known underclassmen that have declared for the draft.

Suh remained No. 1, going to St. Louis. Of that situation, Kiper writes: "Nobody questions that the top need for the Rams is a quarterback. But unless St. Louis trades down -- an extremely difficult proposition on multiple levels -- it shouldn't take a quarterback with its first pick. Suh is maybe the most dominating defensive tackle I've seen in 32 years of doing this. He can be effective immediately for the Rams.’’

Kiper has Big 12 players at four of his first five spots -- Suh at No. 1, Oklahoma defensive tackle Gerald McCoy going No. 2 to Detroit, OU quarterback Sam Bradford at No. 4 to Washington and Oklahoma State offensive lineman Russell Okung at No. 5 to Kansas City. Suh and Okung are three of only 11 seniors that Kiper has in the first round of his mock draft.
