2:44 p.m.: Chad Reuter of cbssports.com drops an interesting name at No. 26 (to the Packers) in a recently posted first-round NFL mock draft: Prince Amukamara.
The Nebraska cornerback is a junior coming off his first season as a starter. Amukamara made 54 tackles and intercepted five passes. He earned first-team All-Big 12 recognition.
We're in the process of trying to see if Amukamara has any intentions of declaring for the NFL draft. Underclassmen face a Jan. 15 deadline, then get 72 hours to withdraw their names. NU head coach Bo Pelini has not said if any Husker non-seniors submitted the necessary paperwork to receive a draft evaluation from the NFL Advisory Committee.
Fifty-three juniors and third-year sophomores declared for the draft in 2009, an NFL record. Fifteen were selected in the first round.
Reuter and fellow CBS Sports analyst Rob Rang peg Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh as the No. 1 overall pick to the Rams.
