Coach Bo Pelini insists that his team hasn't gone about things differently as it prepares for the season's biggest game.
The Huskers have practiced well this week, Pelini said today, but as usual, they're trying not to get too emotionally involved as the anticipation builds for Saturday's Big 12 championship game against Texas.
“Our approach wasn't any different than it was any other week,” Pelini said after today's practice. “Our guys know what we've got in front of us. We don't treat this week any different than we have any other week.”
They will change one tiny aspect of the travel schedule, though. Pelini said he and the team will visit the new Cowboys Stadium when they arrive Friday in Arlington, Texas.
It's not a walk-through, just a quick tour, he said.
“(I) just wanted to make sure the kids saw it before we got over to the stadium on Saturday,” Pelini said.
There's no injury news today, according to Pelini. “We're pretty healthy right now,” he said.
To conclude, here's what Pelini had to say about Ndamukong Suh, who was named to the coaches' All-America team today:
“He's earned it. We're proud of him. He's had a great year. I think he's getting what he deserves,” Pelini said. “It's good to see that they're recognizing him. It's really good to see him mentioned as a finalist for the Walter Camp Award. That's kind of like a quote-unquote Heisman-type trophy award and it's good to see a defensive guy getting recognized.”
