Girl, 2, tests for meth

MADISON, Neb. — A mother faces a felony child abuse charge after her 2-year-old daughter tested positive for methamphetamine exposure.

Susannah Perske, 32, of Norfolk at first denied using drugs around her children, saying it had been years since she used meth or marijuana.

However, hair samples on her 2-year-old showed a positive result for meth exposure. Another child, 5, did not test positive.

Perske tested positive for meth use.

Once the test results were confirmed, Perske granted officers permission to search her apartment. Officers found drug paraphernalia. It was then that Perske admitted to recent marijuana and meth use.

Her children were removed and placed in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. Perske will be arraigned in district court Dec. 18.
