Bellevue firefighters put out two fires within about three hours over the weekend.
Jack Syphers, a Fire Department spokesman, said crews were called Saturday about 11 p.m. to a structure filled with machinery at 8705 S. 36th St. Firefighters then responded about 2 a.m. to a house fire at 1802 Hancock St.
Investigators Sunday were trying to determine the cause of both fires.
A neighbor called 911 after hearing “an explosion” from the kitchen of the two-story Hancock Street house, Syphers said.
Two people who live in the home escaped unharmed.
He estimated damage to the house and its contents at about $200,000.
A boxer dog found behind a couch was given oxygen, Syphers said, then taken to a veterinarian for further treatment.
Syphers said a person walking a dog spotted smoke and flames coming from the machine structure. The fire spokesman estimated damage to the building and its contents at about $500,000.
