There were short lines today at the H1N1 vaccination clinic at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.
After an hour or so, people waited about 10 minutes to get their flu shots. Some people have waited in lines at recent flu clinics in the Omaha area for at least three hours.
The six-hour clinic at the auditorium ended about 3 p.m.
A total of 3,457 immunizations were given. Organizers said they had enough vaccine on hand at the auditorium to administer about 5,000.
The next H1N1 clinics in Douglas County will be Wednesday at Bennington High School, 16610 Bennington Road, and Nov. 23 at Millard North High School, 1010 S. 144th St. Both will be from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
So far, health officials have asked that recipients be in high-risk groups: pregnant women, health care workers, caregivers for infants, people ages 6 months through 24 years, and people ages 25 through 64 with chronic health conditions.
