THIRD SUNDAYS AT THREE: Paul Barnes will present a piano concert Sunday, at Pacific Hills Lutheran Church, 90th and Pacific Streets in Omaha. He is appearing for the Third Sundays at Three series. The concert begins at 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary. While there is no admission charge, donations are accepted to help defray the costs of the concert series. Barnes is professor and co-chairman of piano at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Music. He also serves as head chanter at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Lincoln.

BENEFIT FOR ST. THOMAS MORE: A free concert benefiting St. Thomas More Catholic Church is planned Monday at 7 p.m. at the church. Jim Nailon, a Spanish teacher at the parish’s school and a volunteer musician at the church, will perform from his latest CD of original Christian music. The “Arms Open Wide” CDs will be available for $15 at a reception in the parish social hall following the concert. Proceeds from sales that night will go to St. Thomas More. The church and school are at 48th and Grover Streets.

COOKIES IN COLUMBUS: The Federated Church of Columbus will hold its Cookies ‘N’ More Bake Sale Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. The bake sale will coincide with the Columbus Downtown Christmas Stroll. Many varieties of homemade cookies, bars and candies will be available for purchase. Beverages will be provided free.

MEN’S CLUB DINNER: The Men’s Club of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church will have a fundraising pasta dinner Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the school. All-you-can-eat pasta is $6 per person, $4 for kids 12 and under, and $26 for families of five or more. The dinner will be in the school hall, 41st and J Streets.

SOUPER SOUP DAY: On Thursday the United Methodist Women of Columbus First United Methodist Church will be having their annual Souper Soup Day. Chili, turkey noodle soup, sandwiches and homemade pies will be available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Cost for a complete meal is $7, but items will be available a la carte. There also will be a bake sale.

FREE DINNER AT ST. PAUL: St. Paul Lutheran Church and School at 5020 Grand Ave. will host its third annual free turkey dinner on Nov. 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The dinner is dine-in only. Turkey, mashed potatoes and all the traditional Thanksgiving fixings will be served. Reservations must be made by Tuesday. Phone Karen at 455-2926.

THANKSGIVING FEAST: A free community Thanksgiving feast will be served today from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Afresh Anointing Church, 4757 N. 24th St. The meal is being offered to share food, fun and fellowship.

SUPPORT FOR JOBLESS AT WEST HILLS: A support group for people who have lost a job meets each week at West Hills Church, 3015 S. 82nd Ave. The group, Experience Unlimited, offers networking, education and support for unemployed workers. The meetings are free and are held Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Questions? Phone 391-8788.

PERCUSSION CONCERT: The Omaha Percussion Ensemble, led by Papillion-La Vista High School Band Director Michael Pollock, will be performing a free concert at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Papillion on Nov. 22 at 4 p.m. The program of jazz, classical, pop, sacred and world music will be played on marimbas, drums, vibes and African drums. The concert is another in the continuing series of free public concerts at St. Paul. The church is at 324 S. Jackson St., two blocks west of City Park.

ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR: North Side Christian Church is having its annual Arts and Crafts Fair today and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair also has a bake sale and snack bar. The church is at 5555 Larimore Ave.

MUSIC AND FUN: Comedian and harmonica player Larry DeLawder will appear Sunday for “An Evening of Family Fun and Music” at East Side Christian Church, 331 W. Bennett Ave. in Council Bluffs. DeLawder, from Branson, Mo., is known for his impersonation of Barney Fife, the Don Knotts character on the old Andy Griffith television show. Doors for this performance open at 5 p.m. for the 6 p.m. show. Admission is free, but an offering will be taken.
