Rhonda Garelick will give a talk Sunday after a 1:40 p.m. screening of “Coco Before Chanel” at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center in Lincoln.
Garelick, a professor of English and performing arts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is the author of “Antigone in Vogue: Coco Chanel and the Myths of Fashion.”
The movie is about French fashion designer Coco Chanel's rise to fame. Audrey Tautou (“Amelie,” “The Da Vinci Code”) plays Chanel.

Attorney helped blow whistle on Big Tobacco
Environmental attorney Charles J. Mikhail will lead a post-film discussion Tuesday after a 6:30 p.m. screening of “The Insider” at Film Streams' Ruth Sokolof Theater, 14th and Webster Streets.
“The Insider,” starring Russell Crowe, is about the legal case against Big Tobacco over health problems related to smoking. Mikhail played a leading role in building the case on which the movie is based.
The screening is sponsored by the University of Nebraska at Omaha history department and the UNO College of Arts and Sciences, in conjunction with the University of Nebraska Foundation.
