Cyclone pub
Iowa State hit a jackpot of publicity with a two-minute video on YouTube of the Cyclones celebrating their victory over Nebraska. One version of the clip had 207,212 views as of Monday afternoon.
“It's been overwhelmingly positive,'' ISU coach Paul Rhoads said. “It's been a nice recruiting tool as we moved forward after that victory.
“Everybody who is supportive of the program, and a bunch of people across the country who aren't Iowa State fans or booster or alumni have voiced their opinion about how ‘collegiate' it is.
“It's what college sports is supposed to be about — the passion and the excitement that goes along with it.''

Stat of the week
Two holding penalties and an excessive celebration penalty on a touchdown that was nullified put Oklahoma in a first-and-45 against Kansas State. The Sooners converted it with a 3-yard run, an 18-yard pass and a 25-yard pass, and five plays later scored a touchdown.
Quote of the week
Texas linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy, parroting the company line about not looking ahead to the national title and instead focusing on this week's foe Central Florida, told ESPN.com: “The big prize is this week — Florida Atlantic.''
