LINCOLN — Nebraska coach Bo Pelini said Cody Green has “got to earn it this week'' if the freshman is to make a second start at quarterback.

Pelini would not say after practice Monday if the Huskers are ready to name a starter for the Nebraska-Oklahoma game on Saturday.

“I'd say it's business as usual,'' Pelini said. “Same way it's been.''

Green completed 12 of 21 passes for 128 yards and ran eight times for 43 yards in the 20-10 win at Baylor. Green did struggle some after halftime, losing a fumble and having an interception returned for a touchdown.

Pelini said NU didn't limit its offensive package too much with Green at the controls.

“That's not really a big issue for us,'' he said. “What we got to do is execute better the things we are running.''

Brooks returns to practice

Senior receiver Chris Brooks returned to practice Monday after not traveling to Baylor because of a back injury.

Pelini said he wasn't sure about the prognosis of tight end Kyler Reed, who injured his knee at the end of a 22-yard reception Saturday. The status of cornerback Alfonzo Dennard is unclear after the sophomore left the Baylor game when he re-aggravated a shoulder injury.

Cooper coming on after slow start

Redshirt freshman receiver Khiry Cooper caught three passes for 12 yards Saturday after making his first career start, another step for the two-sport athlete trying to overcome a slow start.

“I think I've come pretty far,'' Cooper said. “Obviously, I was still thinking too much at the beginning. Now I'm actually getting a feel for it, just going out there and playing and not thinking about things.''

Cooper missed spring practice to be with the NU baseball team. After catching just one pass in the Huskers' first three games, Cooper now has eight receptions in the past five.

NU-KU game gets regional broadcast

LINCOLN — The Big 12 has announced that Nebraska's Nov. 14 game at Kansas will be televised on a regional basis on ABC. The game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. from Memorial Stadium in Lawrence.
