NU's Dontrayevous Robinson leaps over the Baylor defensive line and into the end zone for a second quarter touchdown at Floyd Casey Stadium on Saturday. ALYSSA SCHUKAR/THE WORLD-HERALD nebraska cornhuskers huskers football texas tech

    Tracking the offense

    NU STAR

His day was shortened by an injury, but I-back Dontrayevous Robinson generated 61 rushing yards on 13 carries (4.7 per attempt) and caught three passes for 22 yards. The freshman ran for 23 yards to set up a field goal and scored the Huskers' only offensive touchdown on a 1-yard run.

    HIGHLIGHT

Cody Green won't be the Big 12 offensive player of the week, but his debut included a nifty 45-yard pass to Niles Paul that set up the Robinson TD to make it 20-0 in the second quarter.

    BUSTED PLAY

Green showed his inexperience on the play that gave Baylor some second-half hope. The freshman misread a coverage, cornerback Clifton Odom stepped in front of Khiry Cooper and a 45-yard interception return pulled the Bears within 20-10 with 3:27 left in the third quarter.

    OUR TAKE

You'll have growing pains when you lean on freshmen at quarterback, I-back and receiver. The disappointing part had to be a stretch of consecutive series when NU — leading 20-0 — failed on third-down plays when it needed 2, 2, 5 and 5 yards. The Huskers will have to find something more to do anything against Oklahoma.
