I-80 reopens west of Big Springs

Interstate 80 has reopened from Big Springs, Neb., to the Wyoming border.

The Nebraska State Patrol and the Nebraska Department of Roads had closed the Interstate because of wintry weather in the western part of the state.

Both east- and westbound traffic is now open across Nebraska, the State Patrol said. The I-80 restrictions were lifted shortly before 5 p.m. CDT.

Westbound U.S. 30, from Big Springs to the Wyoming border, also has reopened.

Travelers were encouraged to call 511 for latest information on road and weather conditions.
