A former teacher from Bloomfield in northeastern Nebraska has been sentenced to 18 to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
John L. Hoffman, 30, had admitted having had sex with the child at his home in Bloomfield, and pleaded no contest to first-degree sexual assault of a child, according to court records.
Hoffman was a teacher for Bloomfield Community Schools at the time. He was arrested in April, after the girl told investigators that he had sexual contact with her several times from October, 2008 until April of this year.
District Judge James Kube sentenced Hoffmann Tuesday in Knox County District Court in Center, Neb.
