    Nebraska vs. Missouri: Game replay

Coach Bo Pelini postgame press conference:

    NOTICED

Nebraska replaced its starting receiving corps to open the second half. Instead of Niles Paul, Menelik Holt and Curenski Gilleylen, coaches went with Chris Brooks, Antonio Bell, Khiry Cooper and Brandon Kinnie. The regular starters returned to the lineup for the third drive. Paul then caught two touchdowns.

    RAVE REVIEW

Dejon Gomes, Nebraska's junior-college transfer, stepped in for Lance Thorell in the first quarter and played well in NU's dime package. He really shined in the fourth quarter, when he stepped in front of a Blaine Gabbert pass and returned the interception to the Missouri 10.

    WHAT WAS THAT?

Alex Henery's punting game was no work of art. But why wasn't Henery's first punt a penalty on Missouri? Henery received a bad long snap and ran to his right before booting the ball 22 yards, just as a Tiger defender hit him. Henery was outside the tackle box, though, so he was fair game for contact.

    PECULIAR PLAYS

Nebraska's consistent ineptitude on special teams was alarming and surprising. If it wasn't a punt returner fumbling a catch, it was P.J. Mangieri snapping the ball high and outside to Alex Henery. NU is very lucky the punt game didn't cost it a victory.
