FARRAGUT, Iowa — Limitless time for minors to roam the streets in Farragut is coming to an end.
A public hearing on a proposed curfew will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 8 in council chambers.
Councilwoman Becki Sickman said the council wants a curfew similar to other curfews in Fremont County.
“It’ll be easier for law enforcement to not have to remember different rules for different towns, so we’re going with what Sidney already has,” she said.
The curfew for those younger than 16 years old, Sickman said, will be from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., unless with a parent or guardian, returning from employment or from a church or school activity.
Those 16 and 17 years old have the same restrictions, but have an extra hour, midnight to 5 a.m. Sickman added the curfew would be year-round.
