Punt return duo might not stick

Both Niles Paul and Rex Burkhead lined up next to one another to field ULL punts, a strategical measure installed specifically for Saturday's game.

Burkhead said that the Ragin Cajuns had used rugby-style a few times before Saturday, aiming for corners of the field fairly often. So Nebraska countered by putting two return men on the field at once.

Burkhead did have two nice punt returns, taking one back for 33 yards and another for 26. But he's not sure if he'll be back waiting for punts at the same time as Paul anytime soon.

“That's just how we schemed it up this week based on how they've been punting it the past few games,” Burkhead said. “I don't know what we're going to keep doing.”

Finally, Some Rest for the Weary

Nebraska defensive coordinator Carl Pelini said the Huskers can use the time off before taking on the Tigers.

After going through their regular Sunday routine today, they are scheduled for a light practice on Monday before taking Tuesday off.

“I like the position of our off week right now,'' Pelini said. “I just think we had a physical camp, we've really pushed them through the first four weeks of the season, and to get a day or two off this week is going to be good for our football team.''
