Q:What’s the toughest part of fall camp?
A: It’s got to be the hours. I’m a big guy on sleep. I love sleeping in a little bit and you just don’t have the opportunity during camp. You’ve got to be up every day. You just kind of have to find a good balance of sleep with a little rest on the couch here and there. It’s kind of a grind.
Q: What’s your favorite part of the training table?
A: They usually have some pretty good turkey burgers. And then when they have the pasta bar, I’m pretty partial to that. They always got the right Frank’s Red Hot sauce, which I love. I put that basically on everything there.
Q: Favorite condiment then?
A: Yeah, definitely. I’m not a huge fan of condiments in general, just the Frank’s Red Hot Gold. It’s money.
Q: Have you ever had a dream about the fumblerooski and bringing it back?
A: I’ve always wanted to score, so yeah, kind of. But now that’s illegal and everything is illegal except for maybe a tackle screen, maybe. But I’m never going to touch the ball unless I strip somebody (who) made the interception and make me the hero. Some ridiculous course of events.
Q: How do those events usually go?
A: Anything from another guy has an interception, I hit him, fumbles, pick it up and scores, ya know? Cool stuff like that. Or one of our guys fumbles, scoop it up and run. I can just see myself just trying to run and then getting caught at like the 5 and then messing up or fumbling or something.
Q: Leon Lett maybe?
A: Oh, God. I would be like this (motioning to two hands over the ball) if I had the ball. I’d have two hands, head down, close my eyes and run. I’d hit the back wall.
Q: So after you score in these dreams, is there a dance?
A: No, I just take my pads off and walk off. See ya.
Q: That’s is, huh?
A: What else do I have to do? I scored. It’s like, I’m not going to do that again.
