A 21-year-old woman died early Sunday after an all-terrain vehicle accident near Valparaiso.
Brenda Strizek of Valparaiso was pronounced dead at BryanLGH Medical Center West in Lincoln, said Saunders County Sheriff Kevin Stuckenholtz.
Strizek was one of four young adults riding an ATV when it crashed about 12:20 a.m. on a bike path near County Roads 30 and C, Stuckenholtz said.
He said the driver of the ATV, Myles J. Virgil, 24, of Raymond, left the scene. The sheriff said he expected Virgil to be charged with motor vehicle homicide.
Virgil, a 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were taken to BryanLGH Medical Center West for treatment.
The injured woman was in critical condition, Stuckenholtz said. Her name and that of the other passenger were not released. — Kevin Cole
