Kearney man killed in crash

A 39-year-old man was killed in a crash when his Ford pickup collided with a Mercury Sable at an intersection northeast of Kearney.

Jimmy Meston, of Kearney, was traveling northbound in the pickup at about 9:45 p.m. Friday. He was ejected and died at the scene.

Arlyn Stubbs, 47, of Callaway, Neb., the driver of the Mercury, was treated and released from Good Samaritan Hospital.

Both vehicles were totaled and the intersection was closed for five hours. The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
