GREENSBORO, N.C. — A pair of silver medals for Loup City’s Kaleb Henry led the way Friday for Nebraska Association athletes at the USA Track and Field National Junior Olympics.
Henry finished second in both the young men’s (ages 17 and 18) discus and javelin at North Carolina A&T. The Southern Illinois-Edwardsville recruit had a discus throw of 176-8 before his 180-10 in the javelin.
Katelyn Gochenour of Missouri Valley, Iowa, tied the midget girls (11 and 12) association record in the mini-javelin with her fourth-place throw of 112-4. Taylor Heim of Plattsmouth was eighth (95-6). Other Nebraska Association results:
• Bantam boys (10-and-under): 100 meters: 4q, Shannon Brewer, Omaha, 13.63 seconds. Intermediate girls (15-16): 100: 5q, Maia Reynolds, Omaha, 12.10. Long jump: 5, LaQue Moen-Davis, Omaha, 18-5¾. Young men: Long jump: 7, Brannon Wallace, Bellevue, 22-9¼. Young Women: 1,500: 9q, Aubree Worden, Scottsbluff, 4:59.38; Pole vault: 7 (tie), Maggie Maher, Kearney, 11-7¾. Discus: 3, Taylor Jensen, Bellevue, 139-7.
