Boy, 2, drowns in Clarkson

A boy nearly 2 years old drowned in Clarkson late Thursday afternoon.

Jaxson Hornbacher was found in a pool, according to a news release from the Colfax County sheriff’s department.

The sheriff’s department was called at 5:17 p.m. Thursday to 1781 Road 9 along with the Clarkson rescue squad, according to the release.

Jaxson was taken to Alegent Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead. The Nebraska State Patrol is assisting the sheriff’s department with the ongoing investigation.
