SHENANDOAH — Details remain sparse in the investigation of the death of a Bedford, Iowa, woman.
Holly Durben, 29, was pronounced dead after an emergency call Saturday brought Fremont County sheriff's deputies to the home she shared with her boyfriend.
Durben's boyfriend, Brian Davis, 29, of Shenandoah, called authorities, said Courtney Greene, a spokeswoman for the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation. He was taken to a hospital but refused treatment.
Authorities aren't saying when Durben died, whether her death occurred before or after the emergency call or whether Davis is being held or considered as a person of interest.
Investigators worked several hours Saturday gathering evidence from the scene. An autopsy on Durben's body has been conducted by the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny and investigators are awaiting the results.
Both parties were known to authorities prior to Saturday's discovery.
Davis has a history of multiple criminal charges and convictions, including a 1999 conviction for assault and causing serious injury. Domestic abuse charges were dismissed in 2008, and he was most recently arrested in connection with a stabbing in Shenandoah in June.
Durben was arrested in Shenandoah in October for public intoxication.
