HARVARD, Neb. (AP) — A collision in southern Nebraska left a 17-year-old dead and four other people injured.
Clay County Sheriff Jeff Franklin says the collision Tuesday night fatally injured Ryan Schulte of Bruning.
Franklin says the car driver, 19-year-old Zackery Niedt (NIGHT) of Davenport, didn’t yield to a pickup as the two vehicles approached a rural intersection near Harvard.
On Wednesday, Franklin said Schulte died on the way to a Hastings hospital. Niedt and two others in the car remain hospitalized.
The pickup driver, Gerald Koehler of rural Harvard, was treated at the hospital and released.
The sheriff says he’s awaiting blood test results before deciding on whether to recommend any charges.
