Fire caused more than $10,000 in damages to the contents and building at the Smoke Shop at 229 North 7th Street in Denison Monday morning.
The Denison Fire Department was called to the scene at 10:02 a.m. and had to force entry into the building. Once inside they found heavy smoke and began to ventilate the structure.
The fire was located in the back of the building. The building sustained heavy smoke damage and some fire damage.
The Dow City and Vail fire departments were called for mutual aid, but the call was cancelled when the fire was knocked down early.
Also helping at the scene were Denison Municipal Utilities, Black Hills Energy, the Denison Police Department and Crawford County Ambulance.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
