The Omaha Performing Arts Presenters will present “Box Office Bash — Phi Beta Blonde” Aug. 22 at the Orpheum Theater.
The event takes its theme from the Broadway production “Legally Blonde the Musical” and its main character’s involvement with the Delta Nu sorority.
The evening will include cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a live auction and entertainment by a local band, Finest Hour. Proceeds will support Omaha Performing Arts’ education and community involvement events.
“Pledge Moms” (aka honorary chairmen) are Karen Dixon, Sandy Parker and Amy Scott and “Social Chairs” (general chairmen) are Gabrielle Mormino and Jeanie Jones.
“This event not only builds excitement for the upcoming Broadway touring production, but also enables our ongoing support of Omaha’s thriving arts community,” Mormino said.
“Legally Blonde the Musical” will be on stage at the Orpheum Theater April 27 through May 2.
Tickets to the Box Office Bash are $100 each.

Ak-Sar-Ben’s River City Roundup will be kicked off Aug. 15 at the annual Buckaroo Bash. The event will be 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Omaha Mounted Patrol Barn at 615 Leavenworth St.
The evening will feature a barbecue, live music, equine demonstrations, a mechanical bull, cow pattie bingo and a live and silent auction.

Proceeds benefit the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund. Established in 1989 by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and Justin Boots, the fund assists rodeo athletes and their families in the event of a serious injury.
The event will also benefit two local causes: the Omaha Police Department Mounted Patrol, which is raising funds for tack and trailer needs, and the purchase of tickets to send disadvantaged youth for free to the Wrangler Million Dollar Tour Justin Championships Rodeo during the roundup.
This year’s roundup will be held Sept. 24-27 at the Qwest Center Omaha. For information, visit www.rivercityroundup.org.
