The Creighton men's soccer team will open the season with three straight home matches, according to the schedule released Friday.

The Creighton men's soccer team will open the season with three straight home matches, but one of its biggest home contests is scheduled for Halloween, when the Jays will take on four-time NCAA champion UCLA.
The 3 p.m. match on Oct. 31 will mark UCLA's second trip to Morrison Stadium. The teams played to a scoreless tie in front of the largest crowd in Creighton soccer history (5,812) on Sept. 8, 2007.
The Bluejays will open the regular season with a rare Tuesday night contest, playing host to Loyola of Illinois on Sept. 1. Home matches with Cal Poly on Sept. 5 and Missouri State on Sept. 19 will follow before Creighton goes on the road to play at Washington on Sept. 25.
Coach Bob Warming has scheduled one home exhibition, against the Nebraska club team on Aug. 27, with the possibility of adding another.
The Bluejays, ranked No. 2 in the College Soccer News preseason poll, went 16-2-2 last season while capturing the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season and tournament titles.
