State roads director named

LINCOLN -- Remove the word "acting" from the title of Monty Frederickson of the Nebraska Department of Roads. Gov. Dave Heineman on Monday appointed Frederickson, 62, to the post of director and state engineer of the state roads department.

Fredrickson was appointed acting director in June. He had served as deputy director of engineering since 1992. A native of Stromsburg, Neb., he officially began the $135,000-a-year director job Monday, replacing John Craig, who retired.
