Separate shootings injure three

By John Pitcher
WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER

A pair of shootings in Omaha late Thursday night and early this morning sent at least three men to the hospital, according to police.

Gesh Kar, 19, and Kan Tap, 22, both of Omaha, were treated for what officers described as non-life-threatening injuries at Creighton University Medical Center following a shooting at 29th Street and T Avenue about 3:20 a.m. Friday.

A spokesman at the hospital said no update was available on their condition.

The two men had been at a large gathering in front of 2837 T Ave. when an argument erupted, police said. They were injured when someone pulled a gun and fired several shots.

Witnesses told police the suspect fled the scene in a gray four-door vehicle.

Several hours earlier, about 10:15 p.m. Thursday, Jarred Fellows, 18, of Omaha, was shot and injured.

He had been visiting friends in the area of 2416 Pinkney St. and was walking to his car with another man when they heard shots. They ran; more shots were fired and Fellows was hit, authorities said.

A house at 2413 Pinkney St. also was hit by gunfire. No one was hurt inside the home.

Fellows was driven to Creighton University Medical Center by private vehicle and treated for injuries not considered life-threatening.

The hospital had no update on his condition. Police, as of this morning, had made no arrests.
