Kids, get ready. Parents, get your earplugs.

Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas are coming to Omaha, performing Tuesday at Qwest Center Omaha.

The hysteria- and scream-inducing brothers are on a world tour after releasing a new album, “Lines, Vines and Trying Times,” and they say their musicianship and songwriting is progressing.

“Our musical evolution continues to be about discovering new music, continuing to learn as much as we can and really enjoy every moment,” Nick Jonas said.

“This new album ... definitely is a progression in our music and a growth for us,” Joe Jonas said.

Joe and his brothers cited the use of horns and string arrangements in their songs and say they’ve branched out into writing songs about more than just relationships.

Nick Jonas repeatedly mentioned Elvis Costello as a big influence as well as Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash and Prince. He even name-dropped Nashville rock band Kings of Leon and English indie rock outfit the Zutons as influences on the band’s songwriting.

“The new songs on the new record are very exciting to us, and we can’t wait for everyone to come out and see them,” Kevin Jonas said.

The brothers have cooked up a special live show for their fans, which includes a 144-foot wide stage and a large circular water screen.

“We’ve developed a new way to do this and — I don’t want to give too much away about it — but it will add a very interesting effect, especially in-the-round,” Kevin Jonas said. “It will feel like you’re in a whole other world once you enter into the arena.”

While out on the road, the brothers miss their family and friends, but mostly they miss their mom and home-cooked meals. They boys get a few days off on the tour (including one before their stop in Omaha). On those days off, they check out cities and golf.

“We have a fun time on tour,” Nick Jonas said.

Their fun includes having a good time with one another, despite spending long hours on planes and tour buses. Nick is 16, Joe is 19 and Kevin is 21.

“A lot of people are surprised that we do get along, and we are each other’s best friends,” Nick Jonas said. “It kind of makes us laugh because a lot of brothers do fight and things, but we just really don’t have the time.”
