With fireworks, parades and music, the Midlands is ready to celebrate the Fourth of July.
The annual World-Herald fireworks show will be Friday at Rosenblatt Stadium after the Omaha Royals game against the New Orleans Zephyrs, which begins at 6:35 p.m.
The 22-minute display is orchestrated by Fireworks by Grucci and is choreographed to music. This year, the music will be songs that were popular in the mid-1980s to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary, said World-Herald spokesman Joel Long.
The Confidentials, a local band, will perform after the baseball game and will also play ’80s tunes.
Music for the fireworks display will be simulcast on Star 104.5 FM. The fireworks are scheduled to start about 45 minutes after the game.
Shuttle buses are available from the Oak View and Westroads shopping malls from 3:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. Return trips will leave from Rosenblatt starting 15 minutes after the fireworks end.
Bus fare is $3 and benefits the Papillion Little League.
