Robert Masters dead at 81

By Sue Story Truax
WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER

Real estate was Robert Masters' lifeblood.

“He was passionate about real estate and helping to find a first home — or a third home,” said his daughter, Dr. Julie Masters of Omaha. “He was truly a salesman from sunup to sundown.

“He was well-respected.”

Robert S. Masters Sr., 81, died Sunday at the Brookstone Meadows care facility in Omaha, she said. He died after a lengthy illness, his daughter said.

After U.S. Air Force service during the Korean War, he joined Masters Real Estate, the real estate firm founded by his father, Sky Masters.

Robert Masters was a real estate broker for 59 years. At the time of his death, he owned Masters Real Estate.

The company was involved in residential and commercial real estate sales and development. Recently the firm's developments focused on the area of the Nebraska Highway 370 corridor.

He was an active member of the Omaha Board of Realtors, the West Omaha Serra Club and other community organizations.

Other survivors include sons Schuyler of Omaha and Robert S. Jr. of Washington, Iowa; and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Helen; their daughters Mary Margaret and Susan Gerilynn; and his wife of 15 years, Mary Jane.

Funeral services will be at 10  a.m. Thursday at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 11802 Pacific St.
