LINCOLN -- A legal effort to block the Nebraska State Fair's move from Lincoln to Grand Island was considered in Lancaster County District Court Tuesday.
The lawsuit was filed by Lincoln publisher Roger Yant, who alleges he will lose advertising revenues if the fair moves out of town; Adams, Neb., tractor painter Brian von Seggern, who says he will lose business generated by the State Fair's tractor pull; and Grand Island taxpayer Jerry Christensen, who objects to additional local taxes for Grand Island to raise an $8.5 million match required for the move.
District Judge John Colborn indicated he would rule promptly.
